The Moon Chair Receives the Red Dot Award 2023

The Quadrifoglio Group, for whom TOKA are the exclusive distributor in the Czech market, have won the prestigious Red Dot Design “Best of the Best” award in this renown international competition. The award was in the Product Design category for their “Moon” chair, which was created in close partnership with the Italian designer Serena Papait.

One of the world’s most prestigious and established competitions in the field of industrial design, the Red Dot Design Award singles out projects that best meet the criteria of high aesthetic quality, functionality, and innovation. This year’s nominees, which were numerous and came from 60 countries, were examined, and rated by a jury of 43 independent and internationally respected experts.

Designed by Serena Papait for Quadrifoglio Group, Moon captivated the commission for how it experiments with the principles of Scandinavian functional and ergonomic design, fusing them into a distinctive decor feature with sophisticated and revolutionary lines. The chair’s peculiar shape, reminiscent of the infinity symbol, is designed for greater postural comfort by encouraging weight distribution without burdening the spine and favouring a proper and actively natural posture. Its design also induces a perpetual rocking motion, making it exceptionally comfortable.

The achievement of the 2023 Best of the Best Red Dot Award in the Product Design category confirms Quadrifoglio Group’s commitment to pursuing research, innovation and Made-in-Italy creativity and its mission to offer products with a high aesthetic appeal that are functional and comfortable, and capable of improving the quality of everyday living spaces and wellbeing.

Following the official awards ceremony on 19 June at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany, Moon will enter the 2023/2024 Red Dot Design Yearbook.
